Biography

I started playing the piano in 1984 when i was a schoolboy. I then learnt to play guitar at the college and took some singing lessons a few years later.

In 1985 i had an Atari 520 STf but i had to wait the early 90’s to start composing with Ultimate Soundtracker on an Atari 1040 STe and Protracker on Commodore Amiga (i experienced "Quartet" at once but gave up quickly). I then later gave a chance to Screamtracker 3 on PC but finally ended up on making music with Fasttracker 2 for which i bought a Gravis ultrasound.

My career in the 'demoscene' officially started in 1991 when i met Maxx-out (Replicants/Mad Vision) at the university to participate to the very first Atari Falcon dentro '36.000 Dots' (aka eko demo 2 or Cool demo).

For the story, when we got in touch with Atari France to propose our game 'H20' we became "Official Atari developpers". We then had the chance to get an Atari Falcon before it was even distributed in France. We worked on a Dentro that we sent to Atari France who decided to integrate it in the Falcon France "starter pack".

Historically the name EKO that we used for our group was initially an idea from our very first graphist (DEF-KLF). Yes, this guy who made the very firsts 'graffiti' eko's logos. Eko means - Extremely Kriminal Organization or Extremely Kreative Organization.

We later asked to some other folks to join the team like Major X, Nop, Flan, Niko and some others.

EKO released 4 demos and a videogame that really made French Atari Falcon demoscene history.

You can get more eko's stuff on demozoo.

I also created some musics for 3 videogames "H20", “Moonspeeder aka Moongames” a space race and “Kaan the Barbarian”.

Unfortunately, in the following years the hype around the "Atari computers" slowly declined in the demoscene and on the market in favor of the "Commodore Amiga". Many guys from the ST demoscene moved to this new platform. I then bought an Amiga 1200 in 1993 and started using Protracker. I was still making music for established demogroups but also for newcomers.

I then moved to the PC in 1994 with Fastracker and quickly Fasttracker 2. I ranked #1st at the fast music compo and #2 at the Surprise Music Competition during the “Wired 96” demoparty held in Belgium (Bremen).

From 1996 to 2000 i created with some of my close friends, Alexel and Wataru, “Sunlikamelo-d” netlabel. I was also leading with my friend Knos “noerror.org”. A demoscene / netlabels music news website. I was also part of the organisation of the "LTP" and the "State of the Arts" demoparties.

Retired now, but still looking the demoscene, i still make music and i keep an eye on it.

I particularly like remixing demos or videogames musics. You can check this out on my YouTube channel, my soundcloud or browsing my music archive here and there or simply my releases section.
